Vintage White Gold Mother of Pearl and Multi Gemstone Flower Pendant-
This vintage pendant is a carved piece of mother of pearl that resembles a flower. It has detailed petals and in the center are all the birthstones creating a colorful inner ring of purple, yellow, red, blue , and green. There's even a little center diamond to add a splash of sparkle to the inner most ring of the white gold flower. The bail opens up so you can fit it over many different thickness of chain. When the term mother of pearl is used in jewelry, it does not refer to all nacre including a pearl's coating. It instead refers to the nacre that coats the inside layer of the mollusk shell. Mother of pearl set into jewelry is comprised of only a thin layer of sediment similar to a boulder opal. This thin layer can be carved or cut into cabochon-like shapes. Mother of pearl is known to be the ultimate bringer of divine wisdom and intuition. It has a calming effect on emotions and on the body too.
