The inspiration behind Black Hills Gold’s iconic grape‑and‑leaf designs — crafted in three colors of gold — is credited to prospector and goldsmith Henri LeBeau. These distinctive motifs first appeared in the mining towns of California during the 1849 Gold Rush and gradually traveled through the camps of Idaho, Nevada, Montana, and Colorado. In 1876, LeBeau brought the style from Montana to South Dakota, where he opened a shop in Central City and helped establish what we now recognize as traditional Black Hills Gold jewelry.
This vintage ring is a beautiful example of that classic style. With its tri‑colored gold and comfortable low profile, it’s a timeless piece — one that would make a meaningful and unique addition to any collection.
