Vintage Gold Tancer II Brooch/Medallion with Vercingetorix Coin Like Theme -
Vercingetorix was a Gallic king and chieftain of the Arverni tribe who united the Gauls in a failed revolt against Roman forces during the last phase of Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars. After surrendering to Caesar and spending almost six years in prison, he was executed in Rome. The history of Tancer II began in June 1970, when former Coro designer and president Michael Tancer and his colleagues registered the new brand, since Coro ceased to exist. However, the company headed by Michael didn’t work long, as he filed for deletion of registration in May 1978.
