Created by Lorenzo James — a talented artist and member of the Navajo Nation — it reflects the intricate silverwork and deep cultural storytelling he’s known for. James began his jewelry‑making career in the late 20th century, drawing from traditional Navajo designs while incorporating modern techniques. His pieces often feature natural stones and honor the colors and spirit of the Southwest landscape.
Along the sides of this cuff, you’ll find Kokopelli — a beloved fertility figure in several Southwestern Native American cultures. Depicted as a hunchbacked flute player, Kokopelli is known as a playful prankster, a bringer of abundance, and a joyful storyteller. His presence adds a layer of meaning, symbolizing music, growth, and the renewing energy of life.
